So here you are… waiting for the Wild Bunch to release some Digimon Tamer subs. So what can you do while you wait? Watch more Digimon subs, of course! Even if you’ve seen the dubs years ago, watching the subs can sometimes be a whole different story. So go on, watch some more Digimon!
So for Adventure, the first of five current Digimon series, you can waltz on over to Ryuu-Rogue for some great subs.
Follow Taichi and Agumon, Yamato and Gabumon, and all of the other Chosen Children on their original adventure through the Digital World.
Seven kids at summer camp are unexpectedly transported by Digivices to a colorful and enigmatic world. Lost and alone, they are befriended by small digital monsters, Digimon. The kids and their Digimon partners quickly become inseparable, and the little creatures guide their human friends through the wondrous Digital World, protecting them from the hordes of evil Digimon. The group soon discovers that some of the giant Digimon they encounter are not evil Digimon but good Digimon gone bad. A dark power is corrupting even the most gentle of Digimon by embedding Black Gears into them, turning them into vicious monsters. Creating chaos and destruction wherever it goes, the evil power threatens all of Digital World. As they try to find their way back home, the seven kids are drawn further and further into the mystery. Through teamwork and trust, they help their newfound Digimon friends evolve from “monsters in training” to giant champions that must save the Digital World from the powerful evil intent on destroying it (from AniDB).
Digimon Adventure Zero Two
So you’ve watched the first series? Go onto the second! Digimon Adventure Zero Two is a sequel to the first.
There are many ways for you to come upon subs for this. One way is to visit FUNimation’s video portal. There you can watch free, legal subs straight from Toei (the animators of Digimon) themselves! You can also watch the same subs over at Crunchyroll. Don’t like streaming? Want to own the episodes? Crunchyroll also has an option where you can buy-to-download-to-own episodes of Zero Two. You can buy single episodes for $1.99 or buy the first 25 for $39.99 (saves you 10 bucks if you do). You are given direct downloads of an XviD version (which can play on your computer, 360, most DVD players, and other things), a PSP version, and an iPod version of each episode with your purchase. So go at it! Support the Digimon industry.
Three years have passed since Taichi, Takeru, and Hikari’s original adventure, but a new threat arrives in the peaceful DigiWorld – the Digimon Kaiser intends on enslaving the Digimon for his own purposes. Hikari and Takeru, two of the original Chosen Children, return and are joined by three newcomers: Daisuke, Miyako, and lori. Together they go to the Digital World and with their Digimon partners Tailmon, Patamon, V-mon, Hawkmon and Armadillomon fight the new menace to save the Digital World they love (from FUNimation).
Digimon Tamers is what we, the Wild Bunch, are here to sub. Tamers has nothing to do with the first two series and deals more with the Digimon harming the Real World than that of the Digital World. Subs for this are available now on this website.
PositronCannon has completed the series, translating episodes 1-40 from the Spanish dub, with editing help from cardslash02 for episodes 41-51. Feel free to follow whichever group you prefer, but please do not bash either one. None of us deserve that.
Takato Matsuda, Jianliang Lee, and Ruki Makino are children who have, by fate, recieved real Digimon; unlike the imaginary ones in the card game they play. Each of the children, or “Digimon Tamers”, have their different views on how Digimon should be treated. But when other Digimon begin to appear around Japan, they must put aside their differences to fend off the digital intruders; even though Yamaki, who is the head of a secret organization called Hypnos is trying to eliminate all of the Digimon himself (from AnimeNewsNetwork).
Digimon Frontier… a series even I have yet to watch. The series takes place mostly in the Digital World (unlike Tamers), and there are no Digimon Partners (unlike the other series). The humans themselves become legendary Digimon and try to return home while at the same time defending the Digital World. So yeah, a different approach of Digimon.
If you want Frontier subs, there is currently only one option for them. Go to WPP and pick up their old, low-quality subs. Hopefully someday, somebody will take it upon themselves to resub this series using DVDs as the base and not TV RAWs.
Five children receive strange messages on their cell phones that lead them to a train that takes them to the “Digital World”; a strange world filled with bizzare creatures called “Digimon”. These children have been sent there to stop an evil Digimon named Cherubimon from completely annihilating the planet of all its inhabitants. In order to accomplish this, the 5 children must locate their “spirits”, which will evolve them into the Legendary Warrior Digimon. Unfortunately for them Cherubimon has ordered his servants to stop the kids from finishing the mission; eventually the children will have to fight Cherubimon’s forces in order to save the planet.
With five new kids and an exciting new mission in the Digital World, Digimon Frontier brings back all the great action and adventure of the last three seasons. Takuya, Kouji, Izumi, Junpei. and Tomoki meet each other in a train that takes them to the Digital World where a war against evil is being fought. The Angel digimon, Cherubimon, one of The three angels sent to save the World from the power-hungry Lucemon, has turned to the dark side and the entire Digital World is in peril. To fight this great battle, the five CHOSEN ONES must become digimon. Something that no digidestined has done before (from AnimeNewsNetwork).
Ah, the newest Digimon series. After Frontier, Digimon went on a hefty break… to the point some thought Digimon was over and no more series were to be produced. Toei then pops up and gives up Digimon Savers. Savers goes back to the partner Digimon approach the first three series had, but aside from that gives a new groove to Digimon. The kids in the show are older. In their early teens rather than Elementary School-age. Outside of Japan the series titled “Digimon Data Squad” and is the first series not to only be called “Digimon” and then stick a “season #” on it.
Masaru, is a second year Junior High student, and is undefeated in battle, He meets the Digital Monster Agumon, who has escaped from DATS, a secret government organization. Despite terrible first impressions, the two become best friends by talking with their “fists”. With others, Masaru and Agumon work to investigate various incidents involving the Digital World and Digital Monsters, to try and get to the bottom of things (from AnimeNewsNetwork).
Hope this helps aid anyone in their search for Digimon subs. The Wild Bunch should be active soon… giving Digimon Tamers the subs it needed years ago!
